One hour.
It took one hour from the time the Senate voted to approve ‘Red Flag Gun Seizure’ legislation for the Assembly to concur and send it on to Governor Cuomo’s desk for his signature.
Not counting the weekend, the bill went from being filed to approved by the legislature in just four days!
But if you thought that Governor Andrew Cuomo was going to be content to leave the Second Amendment alone once he signed ‘Red Flag Gun Seizure’ legislation into law, I’ve got bad news.
On the contrary, now that he has complete control of the Senate and the Assembly for the first time, Governor Cuomo plans on attacking our gun rights until there is simply nothing left.
His goal is simple: he wants to break the backs of gun owners in New York State once and for all.
With ‘Red Flag Gun Seizure’ legislation signed into law, Governor Cuomo and his allies in Albany are gearing up for the next big gun control bill they hope to pass.
And if you thought that the SAFE ACT and ‘Red Flag Gun Seizure’ legislation was bad, let me assure you, Governor Cuomo is just getting warmed up.
In fact, many news outlets are calling Cuomo’s latest proposal — Senate Bill 1413 filed by Senator Kevin Parker — the ‘worst gun control bill of all time.’
But there is a silver lining here.
Senate Bill 1413 is so bad that even some of the regular gun-control crowd in Albany is privately urging Senator Parker to quash this bill, for fear of the blow-back that it may cause.
And that means that gun owners have to stand up and fight, right now, to crank up the pressure in Albany to stop this legislation dead in its tracks!
You see, if passed into law, this legislation would utterly obliterate the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding gun owners in New York State by allowing the government to investigate your online history as a condition of being issued a gun permit!
No, I’m not making this up.
Senator Parker and Governor Cuomo are hoping to ram this bill into law as fast as they can, to avoid giving gun owners like you and me and time to mobilize any organized resistance.
It’s no surprise, as this bill represents the single most aggressive attack on the Second Amendment that we have ever seen when you consider that the bill would:
>>> Mandate that you surrender your personal log-in information
for all of your social media accounts, before being issued a
permit to buy a firearm!
>>> Require that you surrender access to your computers and
smartphone, and give government agents complete access
to your online search history!
Care to guess what sort of things Governor Cuomo wants his officials to search for, when they are digging through years and years worth of your social media and online history?
The short answer is everything!
After specifying what types of jokes and comments the government would be searching for, the bill goes on to expand their ability to search for: ANY OTHER ISSUE DEEMED NECESSARY BY THE INVESIGATING OFFICER!
In short, Governor Cuomo wants to give a green light to spiteful and corrupt government agents to tear your life apart until they find something that they think is offensive and use that to deny you your God-given right to keep and bear arms!
And don’t listen to ANYONE who tells you that Senator Parker and Governor Cuomo are not serious about trying to move this legislation.
Everyone in Albany knows what’s going on.
Governor Cuomo wanted to pass his priority gun control bills as early as possible, hoping to deny gun owners any meaningful time to organize against him.
Now that he has done that, he has more time to build up support in the Senate for this legislation, the crown jewel of his gun control agenda!
Even more, the bill has been placed into the Senate Codes Committee, which is where all of Governor Cuomo’s legislation goes when he wants to ‘fast-track’ it.
But as I mentioned before, this bill is so egregious, that even members of Cuomo’s own party are trying to stall it!
In fact, capitol insiders tell us that support for this bill is waning in Albany, as even a few committed gun-grabbers are growing concerned about the blow-back that passage of such a heinous bill would cause.
That’s why our job is to draw a line in the sand against this crazed legislation RIGHT NOW, before it’s too late!
And that depends on good folks like you.
So please take a moment to sign the petition that we’ve prepared for you right away!
Our goal at the New York State Firearms Association is to ensure that lawmakers know that if they pass this bill, every gun owner in the state will be opposing them come election time!
Sure, gun owners can’t remove gun-grabbers from deeply ‘blue’ districts. But we don’t have to. By going after their most vulnerable members in targeted seats, gun owners could cost Cuomo his control over the Senate in 2020!
But if this program is going to work, it needs to be massive and we need to kick it off now!
That’s why, before this bill is called up and voted on, our goal is to generate up to 50,000 petitions just like the one I’ve prepared for you using mail, email and social media.
Cranking up such a large multi-pronged program won’t be cheap.
But seeing how fast Cuomo moved the ‘Red Flag Gun Seizure’ legislation, it’s obvious that we don’t know how much time we have to prepare for this fight. We have to move FAST!
