Gun owners need a group that will fight back against anti-gun lawmakers with as much ferocity as they use in attacking us — that group is New York State Firearms Association.

Gun owners have seen their gun rights attacked in New York State so hard, for so long, that some may be tempted to think that there is no stopping Gov. Cuomo’s war against the Second Amendment.

But that’s simply not the case.

The truth is that the war against the Second Amendment has been allowed to progress as far as it has here in New York State because grassroots gun owners have not been represented in Albany in a very long time.

Sure, the Democrats in the Assembly and the Senate hate gun owners like us and have made it clear that they want to eradicate gun rights here in New York.

We all know that.

But it’s also a fact that gun owners have been repeatedly stabbed in the back by the Republicans in Albany, as well.  Never forget that nine State Senators crossed over and joined Gov. Cuomo’s war against us when they voted to affirm the SAFE ACT in 2013.

But as anyone who has worked in Albany knows, had those nine ‘pro-gun Republicans’ held the line, Gov. Cuomo would not have advanced the bill, as all of the political blame would have landed on his legislative allies.

Instead, Gov. Cuomo conspired with legislative leaders in Albany — Republicans and Democrats — to pass this monstrosity, and gun owners like you and I got the shaft.

What about other gun groups?

While there are some groups that do a great job at educating people about gun safety and attending gun shows, they are simply not present in Albany, and are focused on their internal power struggles more often than not.

While one group does spend some time in the Capitol, they spend most of their time on lawsuits, which have yielded little, and the balance of their time playing nice to lawmakers! In fact, the current groups said virtually NOTHING about Gov. Cuomo’s efforts to pass ‘Red Flag Gun Seizure Orders’ last session!

Nothing!

Gun owners need an attack dog. A group that will fight back against anti-gun lawmakers with as much ferocity as they use in attacking us.

That is the New York State Firearms Association.

We don’t care if you are a Republican, Democrat, Independent, the Governor himself, or a newly elected freshman — if you come after our gun rights, we will be there.

Can gun owners throw out gun grabbers in NYC, Rochester, Buffalo, and other ‘blue seats’ — of course not. But we don’t have to.

As we grow and have the means to do so, we will expose the weakest anti-gun incumbents in both caucuses and hammer them in their districts with everything we have.

Gun owners here in New York State are not feared, and as a result are not respected. It’s time that lawmakers in Albany fear gun owners again — and pay a steep political price for their betrayals.

If you are sick of everyone in Albany warring against gun owners, I hope you’ll join us.

If you are tired of weak organizations that seem to focus more of their time on getting ‘selfies’ with lawmakers than fighting for you, I hope you’ll join us.

And if you want to be a part of the hardest hitting, no punches pulled, absolutely unapologetic gun rights organization in New York State, I hope you’ll join us!
