With the legislature well underway in Albany, the threats against your Second Amendment freedoms are popping up so fast we can hardly get the information out to you fast enough.
Governor Cuomo and his America-hating radicals in the legislature are determined to demonize, harass and criminalize gun owners like you and me any way they can.
Nothing else but a blinding hatred for gun owners and the freedoms we care about could explain the type of legislation that we are seeing filed in the Capitol right now.
But it’s not just the Democrats who we must watch.
Insiders are reporting that the deal-making is already underway, as Cuomo’s allies are desperately trying to get a handful of Republicans to support these bills. If they do, they hope to fast track these bills through the legislature, claiming bi-partisan support.
It wouldn’t be the first time.
In fact, this is standard operating procedure in Albany, as the SAFE ACT in 2013 and the ‘Red Flag Gun Seizure’ law that passed in 2019 only did so once back-stabbing Republicans agreed to support it.
And that’s why it’s essential that you sign the petitions that we have prepared for you against these bills, insisting that the politicians in Albany oppose these attacks on gun owners — or feel the heat at election time.
You see, if the Democrats in swing districts — not to mention the moderate Republicans who may be tempted to back this legislation — know that gun owners are watching their every move, we can still shut down this gun control legislation!
As you’ll see, the petitions that we’ve prepared for you insists that your State Senator and State Assemblyman vote against each and every one of the gun control bills that have been filed in Albany, including:
*** Senator Saunders legislation (S-1606) which would require gun owners to submit to a mental health exam every time you go to buy a firearm!
This would allow Governor Cuomo to weaponize the state’s mental health personnel, and use them to go after his political opponents, just like dictators throughout the 20th Century did!
*** Assemblywoman Amy Paulin’s legislation (A-449) which would mandate a ten day waiting period on the sale of every single firearm in New York State.
Imagine how many people bought a long gun in New York last summer, with violent riots breaking out across the state and across the country. This legislation would either force them to risk their lives by waiting ten days, or face criminal charges!
*** Assemblyman Nick Perry’s legislation (A-581) which would force gun owners to obtain civil liability insurance before they could carry a handgun for self-defense!
This is utter madness, and completely unconstitutional. No insurance underwriter would issue this sort of coverage, meaning this legislation would effectively end ALL concealed carry in New York State, for those who can obtain a permit.
*** Assemblywoman Amy Paulin’s legislation (AB-412) which would make it a crime for anyone under 21 to possess a firearm, without exception.
Under this legislation, your 20-year old daughter or granddaughter would be facing criminal charges if she shot a would-be rapist with your gun! Similarly, if your son or grandson was home on leave from Ft. Drum, he would be a criminal for something as simple as going target shooting!
Of course, none of this legislation will stop violent crime or even slow it down.
We already have a total ban on mags that hold over ten rounds, universal gun registration, and a ban on the sale of AR-15 and hundreds of similar firearms — and violent crime is exploding across the state!
The disgusting bills I described above won’t be any different. But legislation like this isn’t being filed to even try to stop criminals. That’s not its purpose.
This legislation is designed by truly depraved politicians for one purpose: to invent as many crimes as possible, allowing anti-gun district attorneys in blue counties to harass as many gun owners as possible.
So please sign the petition we have prepared for you immediately, opposing the entire gun control agenda in Albany!
You see, while the crazed leftists who are running the legislature may be totally brainwashed, they are not stupid by any stretch of the imagination.
And they are watching the reaction of grassroots gun owners very closely. If we sit back and throw up our hands, saying that ‘it’s all over,’ then I can assure you these bills will pass.
On the other hand, if we can flood the Capitol with hundreds of thousands of petitions signed in opposition to this tyranny, they will very likely pull back.
Afterall, Senate leaders in Albany haven’t forgotten that NYSFA members booted Senator Jen Metzger and Senator Monica Martinez to the curb last fall, after learning of their votes in support of Cuomo’s gun control agenda.
That’s why it’s vital you sign the petitions that we have prepared for you right away. After you’ve done that, I hope you’ll consider making the biggest donation that you can, so that we can mobilize hundreds of thousands of gun owners into this effort!
Your financial support will help the NYS Firearms Association launch a massive multi-faceted plan to answer the gun-grabbers, including:
- Unleashing a torrent of hard hitting digital ads across the state, to mobilize over several hundred thousand signed petitions and emails in opposition to this bill;
- Increasing the size of our email list to get the word out to an additional 100,000 gun owners, who can rapidly respond to these bills if they begin to move in Albany;
- Deploying massive rounds of direct mail (to ensure it’s not censored online) to rally even more gun owners into taking action to oppose this legislation.
But we will need your help to be able to run this program at the size and scale needed to be effective!
