It’s go time in the fight for freedom!

The 2023 legislative session just kicked off here in Albany. And that means that our fight to defend our Second Amendment rights has shifted into high gear!

While the fight in federal court over last year’s gun control bill is still front and center in the mind of many NYSFA members, there are new threats to be aware of, too.

Demented Kathy Hochul is like a rabid animal; she’s lost all ability to use reason, and she’s lashing out at any and everyone who stands in her path.

So while the Bruen decision makes it clear that any future gun control laws have to comply with the traditional history and application of the Second Amendment, Hochul thinks she’s above that.

While there will be dozens of gun control bills filed during the 2023 legislative session, there are three main bills that Hochul and her allies are most serious about.

First is a nasty tax increase on ammo here in New York. Second is mandated civil liability insurance on all gun owners in the state. And the big one: mental health exams as a condition of buying a firearm!

The NYS Firearms Association will be giving you details on these bills throughout session, especially as they begin to move.
