The State Legislature will be reconvening in Albany in just a few weeks — which will kick off a massive effort from Governor Hochul to pass mental health gun control — but as of a few days ago, we still hadn’t received your membership renewal form!
If you’ve already renewed your membership for 2022 online or through the mail and our records just haven’t had time to catch up — then I certainly apologize for my mistake.

2021 has been a monumentally important year in our battle to defend the Second Amendment both here in Albany and in Washington, D.C. But with state and national elections taking place next year, 2022 is going to be nothing short of explosive!
At the state level, the NYS Firearms Association is preparing for the most aggressive attack on our gun rights since the recently-arrested Andrew Cuomo passed the SAFE Act in 2013!
Here’s where things stand right now in Albany.
Now that New York Attorney General Letitia James has officially announced that she is primarying Governor Hochul for the Democratic nomination in the upcoming gubernatorial election, Kathy Hochul is trying to move as far to the political Left as she possibly can.
With James already attacking Hochul for being a ‘moderate,’ Hochul’s advisors are telling her that she needs to take radical steps to show the Democrat and Working Party voting base that she’s every bit the America-hating leftists that James is.
And with truly depraved gun control legislation already introduced and ready to move through the committee process in Albany, we could see quick action next session on at least two bills that would absolutely destroy our remaining gun rights here in New York!
The PRIMARY GOAL for Governor Hochul and the Communist left in Albany is passage of mental health gun control legislation like AB-7771/SB-3018, which would require New Yorkers to submit to and pass a mental health exam every time you try to buy a firearm!
Declaring political opponents as mentally defective and then using that bogus ‘diagnosis’ to disarm and then slaughter them was a favorite tactic of 20th Century dictators like China’s Mao Zedong and Russia’s Vladimir Lenin, no wonder it’s being pushed in Albany.
If this legislation passes, you can bet that anyone who loves God, this country, or who dares to stand up against the leftists in Albany or in D.C. will be deemed ‘defective’ and disarmed.
And this isn’t just some vain threat. Over a dozen politicians have recently signed onto this bill as a cosponsor, and with Governor Hochul needing to prove how much of a leftist she is, this is a very real threat.
But the other major threats facing gun owners are the civil liability requirements being pushed in AB-581/SB-7066.
This legislation would require gun owners to provide proof of civil liability insurance when submitting an application for a pistol permit. But having been branded as ‘murder insurance’ by Andrew Cuomo, no one sells this insurance product in New York.
So, if passed, this legislation would effectively make it impossible for gun owners to be issued pistol permits!
But of course, this is the goal of the lunatics in Albany: to make criminals out of gun owners while turning real criminals loose onto the population through their ‘bail reform’ laws.
These people hate gun owners like you and me and they are going ‘all in’ trying to destroy our state. That’s why NYSFA is going ‘all in’ to lead the fight to stop them next session. But we need your help!

But it’s also vital that gun owners across the state continue to FLOOD Senators Schumer and Gillibrand — and especially our Republican Congressman — with calls and emails in opposition to the gun control agenda being pushed in Washington, D.C.
Here’s where things stand right now in Congress.
Biden’s mission to ban our AR-15’s (and hundreds of other semi-automatic rifles and shotguns (S. 736/H.R. 1808) continues to quietly rack up cosponsors and currently has the support of over 240 members of the House and Senate!
This legislation has just one purpose: to disarm the American people and leave us unable to defend ourselves from criminals or from tyrants. Both bills are in the Judiciary Committee.
But we can’t forget about H.R. 8, either. This legislation has the support of a growing number of backstabbing RINO Republicans and the radical left, has already passed the House and is currently awaiting action in the United States Senate.
H.R. 8 (and the Senate companion bill S. 529) would outlaw the private sale of firearms in America and give the government what they have always wanted: a digital list of virtually every gun owner in the country! And we all know why they want that list!
Both bills have hit a roadblock in the Senate, for now. Chuck Schumer needs 60 votes to pass these bills and he doesn’t have that number yet. But if, God forbid, we have a mass shooting incident in America next year, we could easily see a dozen RINOs cross over and give Schumer the votes he needs to send these bills to Biden’s desk.
Perhaps the most dangerous bill of all is H.R. 2377, the national ‘Red Flag Gun Seizure’ legislation that is making rapid strides in D.C. right now. In fact, this legislation was voted through the House Judiciary Committee just two weeks ago!
As New Yorkers know all too well, ‘Red Flag Gun Seizure’ laws allow almost anyone who doesn’t like you (think ex-spouse or a hyper-liberal coworker) to report that you are ‘dangerous’ and ask a judge to confiscate your firearms BEFORE you have been arrested or convicted of a crime.
Even worse, every version of ‘Red Flag’ legislation contains an ex-parte provision which means that the court hearing to determine whether or not you will lose your guns happens IN TOTAL SECRET!
This means that in most cases, the first time you’ll learn that you’ve been ‘red flagged’ is when a SWAT TEAM bursts through your door at 3:00am to seize every firearm you own.
And since the ‘evidence’ that is often allowed in these sham hearings is literally ‘the recent purchase or acquisition of a firearm or ammo’ — tens of millions of gun owners could be ‘legally’ disarmed if H.R. 2377 or S. 292 passes into law!
What makes ‘Red Flag’ legislation very dangerous is the fact that backstabbing RINO Republicans are supporting it in droves.
In the Senate alone, Lindsey Graham (R-SC,) Rick Scott (R-FL,) Thom Tillis (R-NC,) Rob Portman (R-OH,) and Todd Young (R-IN) have already come out in support of ‘Red Flag’ legislation. And Little Marco Rubio (R-FL) is the LEAD SPONSOR OF THE SENATE BILL!
And in the House, when H.R. 4350 came up for a vote last month which would force ‘Red Flag’ laws onto the brave men and women in the United States Military, over 100 Republicans voted for it!
Shockingly, this list included New York Republicans like Chris Jacobs, Andrew Garbarino, Elise Stefanik, and John Katko.
It’s clear that the NYS Firearms Association needs to maintain a full court press on New York’s Congressional delegation, to make sure that we don’t see any more defections on ‘Red Flag Gun Seizure’ legislation.

As you can see, the NYS Firearms Association is leading the fight at the state and federal levels, and that’s why I am counting on your continued support in 2022.
We’ve stopped Biden and Pelosi so far this year. But that doesn’t mean that the Left is giving up. On the contrary, these America-hating ghouls know that 2022 is their last chance to pass their agenda while they control both chambers of Congress.
Make no mistake, these people are pure Marxists who want to disarm the American people so there’s nothing standing between them and their goal of turning this country into a socialist hellhole — even if it costs them their majorities in November!

The 2022 legislative session is just around the corner, and the NYS Firearms Association is gearing up for an all-out battle to stop Governor Hochul’s mental health gun control disaster, which would make you submit to a mental exam every time you buy a gun!
